Outreach
WCS in the World
The students at White Clay School are expected to be active participants in our school fundraising programs throughout the year. These efforts instill a feeling of belonging and empowerment among our students. We teach and believe that each one of us can contribute in some small way in making our earth and our society a richer and more protected place. Fundraisers, like the one below, are familiar to our program. We sent these funds that were raised at our 2014 Spring Soiree to the Vista Del Mar Orphanage in Costa Rica. Our students are also always encouraged to be engaged in understanding and sharing a human rights issue somewhere in the world. Each week we explore these issues through current events and informative media. We also bring attention to these issues through service travel and forming personal/life -long connections with communities around the world.
Community
Our students love to have visitors come into our
school to speak on an area of interest and expertise.
It is a great way to learn and connect with local
business members. We may run business of
our own someday!
Fund Raisers
Each spring WC holds our Auction Dinner Dance Banquet.
This is an evening of dancing and fun for our students and families.
We also raise funds each year for upgrading our technology at White Clay.
Service
Our students hold a yearly fund raiser each Thanksgiving in
order to serve our community members and provide them
with a Thanksgiving meal. We raise money independently
through chores and neighborhood service, and then shop
for and deliver our yummy Thanksgiving meals to local community members!
Environmental awareness
Following our study of the Delaware Bay, we travelled to
Broadkill Beach and studied the horseshoe habitat as well as
helped flip several as they made their way back to the bay!
